I have had the Breadman for 2 years now and use it fairly often. Some things have broken: the nut dispenser was DOA and badly designed. (But not worth the packing up and returning for a new one.) One of the collapsible paddles broke from metal fatigue. And they never really collapse to the flat profile that is promised. What I tend to use is one or two of the 1 lb loaf pans and the non-collapsible paddles. I baked a white wheat-buttermilk bread with golden flaxseeds (my recipe) on the 1 lb, Whole Wheat Cycle, last weekend and it's some of the best bread I've made. I would say, this unit is not as durable as I'd have liked, but it has done well for me. However, if I had a big household and baked every week, I wonder if the unit would have lasted me as long.

We have a non-wheat eater at home, and we are not alone. Many people these days have found out they are intolerant to gluten, and others eat low-carb breads while losing or maintaining weight. Standard...
