Adds a new level to my wine making
Been making wine for over two years now. Its a fun hobby, and it has some nice side benefits as well. To go the the next level I felt the need to measure the free SO2 in the wine. One way off flavors are introduced into the wine is by oxidation. By having free SO2 you ensure no free O2. This kit works easy and quickly. I've run some test cases and it gives every impression of being accurate. I did by a magnetic stirrer as well, that make the measurement very easy to do.
The cost of doing a test is reasonable. The reagents cost about $0.75 per test. In a 5 gallon batch, with three tests the $2.25 spread over the 24 bottles works out to about $0.10 per bottle. With the improved flavor, its well work the cost of the reagents.
